op ed says essentially what I think. (Note that the writer is a conservative.)
The reaction to Trump by the left ensures he has the support of his base and
will help that base grow. The left is as stupid as the right. This thought is
the basis of my Americare proposal: it is a middle ground but would be viewed
as far left by the right and not far enough left by the left.
